Cruising Yacht Club By Mike Brown
The clubhouse of the Cruising Yacht Club (usually shortened, even in speech, to CYC) is probably further from its members’ boats than any other WA club. Sitting on Rockingham’s best waterfront land, it is surrounded on three sides by high-density housing. more »
Swan Yacht Club
According to Manager Geoff Reynolds, the Swan Yacht Club’s name is something of an anomaly: “This is the yacht club without a single sailing vessel”, he says. And although it used to have sailing craft as well, it is probably the only long-established club to have always had powered craft. more »

Spectacular every man’s sailing venue: Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club
As an outsider looking in, Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club looks ritzy, glamorous and exclusive. Yet the general manager says it belies its appearance and is closer to a working man’s club.

Hampton Harbour – a bustling tropical haven
Hampton Harbour forms the small boat anchorage portion of the bustling Port of Dampier. The port is one of the busiest in the country with the shoreline dominated by the towering flames of the onshore gas plant of Woodside as part of the North West Shelf Venture. more »
Hillary’s Yacht Club
‘The Maid’ is laid flat at 18 knots. Man overboard! No, two! ‘Fasty’ is closing fast. Good on them, they have dropped sail to lend a hand. But what about the race? Happy to report that both vessels finish the 2006 Pot of Gold race. But that’s already club history. Sign of the times – Fremantle Sailing Club’s march towards the
Fremantle Sailing Club is the granddaddy of Perth’s boating scene. The first thing that strikes you as you drive into the complex is its size, and this is what makes sure that Fremantle is set apart from the competition. more »
Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club-The ‘biggest’ and the ‘best’ caps its membership
Silver waters gently lap the pylons of the modern pen system. On this early morning there is a quality about the place typical of the end of a protracted winter. There was a brief frenzy here for a week in October when the Mandurah Boat Show was hosted on the premises, as it is every year. Now the only sign of that event is the slightly worn lawn that separates club house from water’s edge. more »
Royal Perth Yacht Club-Ceremony and sailing success sets it apart
Consider tradition and what it means to you. Consider how fiercely you guard it and how dear you hold it. And if the notion of a song sought from the race winner to the amusement of all in the wardroom tickles you pink, then we have the club for you. But, if the commitment to sailing is far more important, then boy, there is a world-class club for you right here in WA. If none of that is of interest; you have never sailed and never will and just want to be part of a social circle - perhaps living vicariously through others, then here is a place to sign up.
